OVERVIEW:
Working as Full-time General Ledger Manager, you will enjoy the opportunity to participate in a fast-paced work environment focusing on a variety of accounting duties for Fastenal's world-wide locations. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
o Managing the daily operations of the general ledger international team
o Effectively communicating and providing guidance to foreign based accounting, tax and administrative teams
o Developing, training and motivating others to achieve team and individual goals
o Leading and processing monthly and quarterly closing activities
o Reviewing and analyzing financial statements prepared internally and by external advisors
o Managing statutory audit activities and deadlines
o Identifying and implementing system and procedural enhancements and efficiencies, including an emphasis on results-driven project management
o Performing special projects and other administrative tasks as necessary
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:
o Possess a degree in accounting
o Possess at least 5 years of related work experience
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
o Willingness to manage results-driven projects while working with development teams through design, testing and implementation
o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
o Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)
PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
o Previous experience using PeopleSoft
o Previous experience with accounting for foreign operations
